There and back again - Post-London

It all started near Thanksgiving time when I received my email for the prospect of studying abroad. Wow, how time flies! My little blog has been stuffed filled with little updates on the exciting things I've done in London and beyond and it still feels like I haven't let it settle in.

View of London from the Aquashard.
Now, I'm working through my first week of summer quarter classes at UWT while going through a growing list of things to do since returning home. There are still plenty of good friends I must visit and chores to be done (urgh).

I do intend to keep this blog up so that I can reminisce and for family and friends to browse through it!

But I'm not longer updating posts about London! Right?

Day 67 - "The air of London is sweeter for my presence"

Me in a cable car over the Thames River!
While going home on the tube tonight, my face felt stuffy holding back tears.

I hugged my friends and looking behind them, I glanced at the glistening Thames river through misty eyes.

Today has been wonderful despite the usual tube line disruptions and riled up people. I had to spend my last day in London doing something I can feel good about.

Day 64 & 65 - School's out!

The last two days were as fun as they were bittersweet. As much as I am SO GLAD that I don't have to do any more homework until Summer quarter, there is something very different about spending these last few school days in such a memorable way.

They involved one more musical, a couple more assignments, and a good ol' party in a pub.

Day 66 to 70 - How to make your moments count

The days I spent recently have been a mix of excitement in a good way and excitement in a "Oh, Please, Not Right Now" kind of away.

While me and the rest of our class laments about or individual countdowns of the days we have left in London, I spent some of it attempting to make up for the things I still haven't done yet that I can for sure do.

That involved a visit to Peter Pan, a little more theatre, exciting marching, an uncomfortable feeling of losing something, and then gaining a new perspective on that situation, then finding a silver lining in those moments in between.

Day 61 to 65 - Where you been, Jillian?

Since the last post, I have had to withdraw from an ATM because I had a moment of mild panic. Don't worry, nothing bad happened. It has to do with the fact that I wanted to buy things for when I get back!

What happened on those days? Well, they were filled with lots of interesting things, but some of those days were slightly hindered by muggy rainy days.

So, here's a long post about rainy days and the need for sleep.

Day 60 - The countdown begins

Today isn't too eventful except the big MCM London Comic Con that is happening this weekend. There's also some big playoffs happening.

But while I take into account all the things that are happening around London, I can't seem to escape the inevitable countdown that me and all my other classmates are constantly thinking about. In two weeks, I'll be wrapping up this program and saying goodbye to this city.

Wow.

I have been looking back at my blog posts and pictures with a melancholic stare.

At least we have some assignments to keep us in the moment. I have 3 essays to do! I also have to prepare for my day trip to Birmingham tomorrow, so I should at least make most of these moments while I am here.

Time to make these two weeks work out for the best!

Day 59 - From Rosetti to Freud

I'm getting ready for a big weekend, but before I try to slip into bed, here's what I did today!

Even with fickle weather, I managed to get a few things done around the big excursions.
